Francis Crick Institute

 

The Francis Crick Institute is a biomedical discovery institute dedicated to understanding the fundamental biology underlying human health and illness. Our work is helping to understand why disease develops and to translate this into new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, strokes, infections, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Aeris Contribution

AERIS executed a Senior Project Management function for a programme of science facility adaptions in response to the demands of the client’s research programme, primarily in laboratory environments. Reporting directly to the Francis Crick Head of Projects and engaging directly with a range of stakeholders to ensure the works are designed in accordance with the agreed brief and relevant standards, and executed by the principal contractor in the build phase. 

Working in a live building environment, the projects required detailed construction logistic plans for review and agreement with client stakeholders to avoid disruption to critical science activities.

The role included technical review of engineering designs, managing the project programme and project controls, including client quality assurance, change control, administration of the NEC contract and management of handover to the client team.

Phirst Precision

A specialist metal finisher based in Kent supplying high quality, tolerance and durability machined tooling making components to major clients globally. Their focus on technical expertise, quality and customer focus has allowed them to be highly successful over their 27 years of operations. 

 
 

Aeris Contribution

AERIS assisted Phirst in reviving their Sales and Marketing strategies and carrying on to execute the agreed plans. This included a total re-design of their logo and branding as well as carrying this through to all collateral. A highly successful and exciting project, which will have continuous value add to Phirst for many years to come.

Relation Therapeutics

Relation Therapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on leveraging computational and experimental techniques to understand biology better. Central to Relation’s approach is its integrated wet–dry laboratory which leverages human genetics, single-cell profiling and machine learning to generate new insights with real translational validity. The company is located in London and is a leader in the use of high-resolution biology, machine learning and clinical insights to discover life-changing medicines.


Aeris Contribution

AERIS in association with CBLS Consultants were approached to project manage and undertake architectural, mechanical and electrical design, carrying through to construction, the strip out and proposed reconfiguration and refurbishment of the 7th floor.
The proposal introduces smart, modern, and functional laboratories as well as flexible, collaborative and contemporary office space.

Aeris has and continues to work alongside Kier Construction/Places on a variety of projects throughout the south of the UK.

UCL - UK Dementia Research Institute

The UK Dementia Research Institute’s purpose is to make new scientific discoveries and new hope to stop dementia.  The Institute carries out original, ground-breaking research that transform lives. They attract the brightest minds and give them the best technology and research tools. They work with each other, with people living with dementia and their families, with the wider scientific community and with industry to translate findings into treatments.


Aeris Contribution

Aeris executed a Senior Project Management function for the Programme Team of the design and fit out of the laboratory spaces for the new DRI hub at UCL’s Cruciform Building.  Engaging directly with a range of stakeholders to ensure the works were designed and delivered in accordance with the agreed brief and relevant standards, and executed by the principal contractor in the build phase. Working in a live University environment, the project required detailed construction logistic plans for review and agreement with key stakeholders to avoid disruption to the day to day operation and achieve a time critical programme.
